Qualified Rigger
Description
This course is designed to promote efficiency and safety in the field of rigging for overhead lifting.
This course is designed for a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 students. The students should be dedicated to this training for a minimum of 20 hours. If hands on activities are requested there will be an additional 5 hours and equipment required.
The customer must provide a classroom with computer compatible projector, white board or flip chart.
What we do:
Bannerman Training & Consulting, LLC will provide training to enhance employee knowledge and safety and provide guidance for compliance with OSHA/ANSI and Industry Standards. Training will consist of the following:
- Develop an understanding of the Terms and Definitions
- Develop an understanding of Lifting Equipment and Hardware
- Demonstrate the ability to utilize a pre-lift plan to ensure a safe lift
- Demonstrate the proper use of hitches
- Demonstrate the ability to calculate sling tensions
- Demonstrate the ability to calculate center of gravity
- Demonstrate the ability to correctly execute a lift by identifying the proper hardware for the lift and proper use of that hardware
- Correctly identify inspection requirements and criteria for lifting equipment and hardware
- Correctly identify OSHA general practices and removal criteria
