Grounding For the Protection Of Employees
Description
This course is designed to promote efficiency and safety in the field of working in an energized substation/line. Basic procedures and understanding of equi-potential grounding applications.
This course is designed for a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 students. The students should be dedicated to this training for a minimum of 6 hours.
The customer must provide a classroom with computer compatible projector, white board or flip chart.
What we do:
Bannerman Training & Consulting, LLC will provide training to enhance employee knowledge and safety and provide guidance for compliance with OSHA standards and Company Safety Policies. Training will consist of the following:
- Develop an understanding of the purpose of protective grounding
- Develop an understanding of your responsibility
- Develop an understanding of the principles of protective grounding
- Develop an understanding of the difference in protective grounds and personal protective grounds
- Know when protective grounds are required in new construction
- Develop an understanding of proper application of protective grounds
- Develop an understanding of the construction, ratings, and testing of protective grounds
- Develop an understanding of proper techniques for applying protective grounds to vehicles and mobile equipment
- Demonstrate an understanding of the verification process
- Develop an understanding of “Touch and Step Potential”
- Develop an understanding of properly grounding substation and switchyard equipment
- Develop an understanding of properly grounding transmission lines
